What to expect:
Your first visit will last about 75 minutes during which time we will discuss your reasons for coming to acupuncture and your expectations from treatment. Your health and personal history will be reviewed and a complete screening will be conducted. You remain clothed. Subsequent treatment sessions will usually last about 45 minutes. Although sessions vary with each individual, we usually spend about half of the time talking. You update Donna on how you are doing and responses you have observed. The rest of the time you are on a massage table with your clothes on. Donna feels your pulses. After this she has enough information to customize your treatment so that you receive the most benefit from the least amount of needles (usually 6-8). Donna uses the highest quality needles. They are individually wrapped, sterilized, solid and very, very thin. They are never reused. She inserts them gently and removes them quickly. Because the Ch'i is balancing, most people report a sense of relaxation and calm immediately after the treatment. You then rest and enjoy this peaceful sensation in a quiet, private atmosphere.
